A master work in the art of blending from old and very old vines grown at Finca Libertad, Benegas's own estate on the upper bank of the old Mendoza River in Maipu. 34% Cabernet Sauvignon (80 years old), 33% Cabernet Franc (120 years old) and 33% Merlot (40 years old) are vinified separately with 50% of each undergoing malolactic in 1st use French oak barrels. Each wine is then aged for 10 months in barrel, then blended, then aged for a further 10 months prior to release. A beautiful, complex, elegant wine with more than a nod to Bordeaux (from a very good vintage!)
