The story goes that many years ago, when Michel Rolland was deployed as a winemaking consultant at Bodega Benegas, he once commented to proprietor Federico Benegas-Lynch that the quality of his Cabernet Franc was fantastic, but that it should be kept for blending only. This comment inspired Federico to do exactly the opposite and forthwith he made the first vintage of this outstanding wine. So the story goes.
In any case, this is a masterpiece. It is matured for a total of 7 years at the winery (18 months in new French oak) before release and provides an insight into the potential of some of Argentina's top reds to develop serious complexity and elegance.
